My childhood has now been ruined by the image of calvin banging hobbes. Thanks 'festers, thanks.

There may be similarities, but only because both comics address the human condition.

They are bound to come to the same conclusion some of the time.

But no, Slick is NOT Calvin.

Calvin is a just a young kid who represents the intelligent but unwise part of society, the cynical, fatalist, what can you do for me? Type of people.

Only because he is young.

Once Calvin gains some life experience I believe he would be head and shoulders above Slick.

Slick is sort of a weaker less intelligent version of Calvin.

Not necessarily. Calvin reminds me of the kids I know in my high school in 'gifted'. They're a load of losers. Only a couple of them will ever amount to anything if they don't clean up their act really damn fast. But they're in gifted for a reason, they do have the IQ for it.
I blame it on the school system. Which Calvin, at his young age, is already having problems with.

I could be wrong, but didn't Slick's profile on the old Cast page say "Calvin rip-off"? Not that that means he is, I'm just sayin'. Confused
