There's a whole lot of diseases that are endemic to squirrels-- typhus and the bubonic plague, to name a few-- so it might not be the best idea to rely on squirrels as a food source, or any wild animal, really.
Of course, this comes from a guy with three squirrels in the freezer. |

Actually me and my friends used to joke about robbing the National Guard weapons cahce in such an event. The thing is this facility has hundreds of automatic rifles, grenade launchers, and rocket launchers, but absolutely no ammunition. They keep all, emphasis on all, ammunition in a separate armory down state. So we had a few guns amongst ourselves, figured we'd hit up there first, then get the ammunition from the second base (or barter a few of our extra weapons for ammunition if some other entrepreneurs had already beat us there). _________________ "And then the sea was closed again, above us." |

| This is one of the reasons I live where I do. I am 300km from the most isolated capital city in the world. We have vineyards, dairy, orchards, olive groves, heaps of pot, an ocean where you can still catch fish, surrounded by old growth forrests, heaps of fresh water and if the shit really hits the fan there are caves everywhere. Bring it on...WOOT!!!1! |

| Hah. i just remembered that, except for being excellent to smoke, make clothes, rope, paper and such, the hemp is actually edible. the seeds that is. If I remember correctly a fistfull is enough to give you enough nutrients to get through a day. |

Ha, I’d be screwed. We’d probably end up looting a liquor store and drinking ourselves to death beneath the underpass. _________________ "You cannot run away from a weakness; you must sometimes fight it out or perish. And if that be so, why not now, and where you stand?" |

One of our neighbors growing up used to hunt squirrels. he used to mount the skins (after he skinned them) on a board on the wall of his garage. Surprised I can still remember it so vividly.
Where I am in jersey, we're pretty much just gone if any major warfare goes down. Too many primary targets too close.
Not a bad thing really, I don't want to have to deal with the zombies and mutant roaches. _________________ "Her kisses left something to be desired -- the rest of her. " |

That cracked me up.
Screw cavemen. As soon as the bombs start falling I'm strapping on a leg brace, sawing off a shotgun, and stealing a turbocharged V-8. I will then seek my fortune as a gritty post-apocalyptic knight errant, and make it with all the chicks who've decided to forgo comfortable clothing in lieu of skimpy bikerss leathers and battered football pads.
It should kick ass. _________________ "Whatever afflicts thee, their asses I shall kick"
