has anyone seen Penn and Teller Bullshit?
you may be interested in checking out this particular episode:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Hftbu34X08
due to the way youtube is set up, they had to cut the show up to 3 segments.
but one of the basic premise is also: don't believe everything you read.
which also includes bad poll taking. |

And last I checked Gallup was normally defined as bad poll taking. _________________ The older I get, the more certain I become of one thing. True and abiding cynicism is simply a form of cowardice. |

If evolution is true, it would only cause a problem for believers in a literal reading of the Bible. Some god believers are able to maintain a non-literal reading of the Bible AND accept the possibility of evolution. (Of course, once you've gone non-literal with the Bible, there is no telling what the hell the pile of shit actually says.) There are also those god believers who don't pay attention to the bible at all who are perfectly able to believe in gods AND accept evolution. Lil Evil is a bit off base when he thinks that Darwin is any threat to gods, real or imaginary. Huh?

Christ. Do they look like Pikachu? No. They are cute faces with horns. Instead of being cute bunnies, they are cute demons.

Quote: | Also I've noticed that the "T" sometimes shows up on the left / right and sometimes 3rd / 4th panel. Wonder if that has meaning? | Good lord, no.

Quote: | I've found strongly suggests that creationism is a big issue in the US. | It is a bigger issue in the US than it is elsewhere, but there are more and more politically-motivated fundamentalist groups forming in other counties too, due most likely to their undying efforts to spread world-wide. Australia and the UK are hearing more and more from these people.
Quote: | Besides it is taught at schools nationwide | No, it's not. Some schools in more fundamentalist areas have fundamentalist teachers that are more vocal about their beliefs with their students, but creationism is NOT being taught in the public schools as a standard. |

I wouldn't say all - only the handguns, in fact. Some weapons are symmetrical. And only 65% of bladed weapons are clearly pointing left. (The third axe-bladed weapon can't be seen whether it's double-bladed or not; if could have some other face with a larger blade.) |

I'm sorry about the nationwide thing, obviously I mixed something up or my source was just wrong (I read several articles some weren't in english so I won't bother to check where I got that wrong, since you won't be able to check it anyway). Thank you for pointing it out to me.

I can't tell how reliable the gallup poll is but all the numbers I've found were approximately the same.
See http://pewforum.org/surveys/origins/#3
Science also published similar numbers in 2005 too.
I really don't know why I should think all polls are wrong. In general if I have the time I check more than one source but as long as I don't find contradicting info I tend to assume the info is somewhat correct. |

The US isn't the only one, according to polls.
Since there's really no difference between Creationism and Intelligent Design, I choose to lump the two together for a result of 39%. |
