I recently raised the question of whether or not the "parallel" comics will ever make a comeback. Just wondering what people's favourites were.

the most recent 'sideline' comic, by the given definition:

less than 4 months ago.

That, and it's worth noting that half of sinfest could be construed as 'sideline'. There's pooch and percy, the crimeny arcs, and God's hand puppets. There's been at least one each even more recently than the calligraphy.

Indeed so, but those take place within the general continuity, whilst those on the poll do not, and (with the exeption of calligraphy) have been phased out, which I consider a shame. And Ninja Theatre was the shit.

pooch and percy are considered part of the 'general continuity'?

They've featured general continuity characters only once, in passing.
That's less than calligraphy or Ninja theater.

But the main characters are still featured, albeit in passing. However, Wasabi could never interact with Slick, or the Slick from the Matriachy, thus they are "parallel", as in a parallel universe or continuity.

N.B, where is the "normal" (I use the term reluctantly) storyline set? I presume somewhere in California, as in an early beat poetry strip Slick declares "West Coast Rules" (of course, he could just be being exeptionally Gangsta).
