The man built a fucking CASTLE without anybody noticing, on his own land, as a home for his family, AND IT HAS LIVE-IN DUCKS?
This man deserves a parade. You law-and-order types sure can be vindictive bastards. _________________ All our final decisions are made in a state of mind that is not going to last. - Marky Mark Proust

Yeah. They'll tell him when he needs to lower his head to avoid missiles.

What they do in their own nest is no business of ours, so long as it's consensual. _________________

Is that what you'll be saying when they start nesting with the family dog? Because you know damn well that's where it's headed. _________________ All our final decisions are made in a state of mind that is not going to last. - Marky Mark Proust |

| They'll need something to eat once the siege is in full swing. |

Wow, I thought this was a joke at first.
So unless the law specifically says he has to be seen building it, he wins. I'm fine with someone being clever enough to find loopholes in the law, unless it hurts someone. Now I don't see any possible way this house could be more damaging to the ecology than your average farm, unless its waste disposal is right into the area drinking water or something.
Kudos to him. If they come to take the house, lets see how quick he can load the cannon.
Though I do have to ask, where the hell did he buy cannon in this age? Ye Olde Arms Supplier? |

No moat, no drawbridge. I could take the castle with 50 men in two weeks time. |

I think a stealth castle would look awesome on the drawing board, but if you scale it up all those stealthy angular bits just become big and bland bits of boring architecture. In that aspect the stealth exemplifies much of the reason for my distaste of (some) modern architecture* and my disappointment in finding nice shoes (size 13 it says here). Big=bland=boring. Like the mcdonalds logo is covered in small writing and car interiors have those speckly bits: big planes don't work: size matters: you can't scale stuff up arbitrarily. Never seen a b-52 (that is the point) so can't say if it applies there but overall I think a stealth castle - while good on the drawing board - would disappoint in real life.
*it's a bit unfair to blame the architects though, labor has gone up so much that making huge buildings interesting in simply unaffordable |

I haven't yet read this thread beyond the first few comments, but I did read about it in the free paper, and I think it is very important to remember that as a robot - which he or she clearly is - Kame should not be allowed to write scurrilous generalisations about the British on the internet without first having completed the appropriate section of the part of the addendum of the insert in the form supplied in the application for the authorisation piece of the notification provided in the paper supplied through the department of searching for the division of the participant party of the division of the group whose team report directly to the support office of the service network of the working party without whom the confirmation certificates can be issued through. _________________
