I second the garlic mashed potatoes idea. _________________ The older I get, the more certain I become of one thing. True and abiding cynicism is simply a form of cowardice. |

Have you had blue cheese mashed potatoes? It is really, really good. _________________ Before God created Las he pondered on all the aspects a woman might have, he considered which ones would look good super-inflated and which ones to leave alone.

Thirded on the potatoes.
My favorite mashed potato recipe:
Boil you up some 'tater hunks until they are tender, but still firm.
Plop them in your mixing bowl (I'm lazy and mash with my mixer, but you can do it by hand if you like)
Add in a generous dollop of sour cream (like, if you're making oh, a quart of potatoes, put in a cup of sour cream. This is what makes the potatoes creamy instead of gritty, but tastes better than plain milk)
Garlic (I use a combo of fresh minced and powdered, but either works. If you're using all minced, it's also nice to sautee the garlic in some butter and pour it all in)
a spoonful of italian herbs (i have a mix, but it's got marjoram and basil in it)
Serve with parmesan cheese on top.
MMMMM. |

So like, sugary barley syrup? Is it drunk, or eaten like Cream O Wheat? The wiki makes it sound like a step in a process and not a final ingredient.
Sounds like it is potentially icky. |

Hmm, last time I made mashed potatoes I grated up a block of (weak) parmesan (I couldn't find any good stuff), poached a ton of garlic in cream, and added the garlic and cream plus a bit of butter before I put in all the parmesan (texture was better that way). It was a hit. _________________ Before God created Las he pondered on all the aspects a woman might have, he considered which ones would look good super-inflated and which ones to leave alone.

at least, I think that is what he is referring to. Isn't there also mash in the beer making process? |
I think that mash is the term for the product fermenting, making wines. (later distilled(hooch), brewed(beer), or aged(wine)) _________________ When life gives you lemons, some people make lemonade. I just eat them and make a sour face. |

To be honest ive never actually had mash. I know about it from stories from my aunt and parents who apparently grew up as moonshiners. But from what ive heard it described as it was like oatmeal that tasted like shit and got you drunk.
Edit: Damn got flash posted. _________________ I couldnt think of anything smart to say.

EEEEWWW. Ew. I'm not a big fan of the oatmeal/creamofwheat/barfinabowl, so I don't think I want any.
I'll bring potatoes to any parties. I love potatoes. |

Quote: | A 39-year-old man was arrested in Tokyo when he tried to enter a high school wearing a long wig and a girl's school uniform.
When students standing outside the gates started to scream at the sight of him, he dashed inside the school grounds, hoping to blend in with the crowds of teenagers, the paper said.
They also screamed, forcing the man to flee, losing his wig in the process. A school clerk pursued him and stopped him at a nearby riverbank, the paper said. |
but you're right about the mash though, all of you |
