I have absolutely no interest in the show, and I have never even watched it once ever ever, but it took me all of two minutes to know all I needed to know to completely bypass this whole 'but X can render Y useless by...' argumentation tangent.

Mako isn't a character, but rather the actor who voiced Uncle Iroh. He also did Aku from Samurai Jack.

Per the conclusion of the show, here's what we're going to learn.
Fire is All That, and it's going to think that it's All That. And they're going to get all Up Ons because they think they can wail on all of the other elements. But the three other elements, now pressured, will team up against Fire and there will be deus ex machina and that will be the end of that.
So basically right now we will have
Fire > Air
Fire > Earth
Fire > Water
But then there will be
Game Theory > Fire
And then
Heart of the power of the cards or whatever for the main character > Fire
And then
All = All |

No, continuation. Aang will be the new Roku. Plus there'll be flashbacks to when him and Kitara and everyone were alive. They did it for Roku.
