HEY EVERYBODY ITS CON TIME

visit lovely WASHINGTON, DC

for a WHIRLWIND TOUR OF THE GREATEST ARTISTIC AND HISTORICAL COLLECTION IN THE WORLD*

April 1st-5th (look a date)

Yeah, we're doing a Washington DC con, to all get together and power through the capitol's extremely large and amazing collection of museums and galleries. So large and so amazing that I really wish that they would move the seat of government way the hell away from it so that it isn't necessarily at risk of getting the shit nuked out of it in the event of war with eastasia or something.

Most of the essential activity will be crammed into a two-day spree so that people can fly in for a weekend. I'll be staying across the potomac in Alexandria and will probably have a car. When we start making reservations I will recommend an Alexandria hotel so every morning we can park at the Huntington station every day and take the DC metro to the Mall.

For the central weekend and the days attached to them (whichever they may be) we'll be recuperating in the morning, taking the metro out around noon, spending the entire afternoon doing the culture tour, then I'll take everyone out to eat and drink. Late nights can be reserved for general hotel room drinking, debauchery, and political career ending cellphone videos.

THE HOTEL

It is a half a mile from the Huntington metro station and also within walking distance of old town alexandria which is a wonderful place for dinner. GO GO MAKE PLANS

i'd love to see if i can go. my aunt lives outside of DC by a few minutes in Alexandria too, pretty sure I could stay with her. Oh and the spy museum is AWESOME.
There was also some crazy Japanese sort of ..tapas like place that was really cool.

I'll have to see if I can make it. With any luck I can. It'd be fun!

I'd love to, but I spent a grand on my last four day trip to DC; that city is too damn expensive for casual travel.

I can't predict anyone's travel expenses or the final costs of hotel lodging but the days themselves can be massively cheap. Most of what there is to see is completely free admission (thanks, socialism), the gallery has an excellent subterranean cafeteria for mid-day grub, and most of the transportation is the Metro.

Honestly the static costs for the events could be around $50 a day. Plus, you may not even need a hotel room. STAY TUNED.

Which means, Sam, that you can add Feit to your list of confirmed attendees.

Also, I give this thread the Kara Stamp of Approval.
