| Quote: | 5th April 2010 10:44 EST WikiLeaks has released a classified US military video depicting the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad -- including two Reuters news staff.
Reuters has been trying to obtain the video through the Freedom of Information Act, without success since the time of the attack. The video, shot from an Apache helicopter gun-site, clearly shows the unprovoked slaying of a wounded Reuters employee and his rescuers. Two young children involved in the rescue were also seriously wounded.
The military did not reveal how the Reuters staff were killed, and stated that they did not know how the children were injured.
After demands by Reuters, the incident was investigated and the U.S. military concluded that the actions of the soldiers were in accordance with the law of armed conflict and its own "Rules of Engagement". |
yeah, um so, this is the video and I would recommend you watch it. _________________ attitude of a street punk, only cutting selected words out of context to get onself excuse to let one's dirty mouth loose |

Is it naive of me to think it would have been better of them not to hush these things up?
They never claimed those atom bombs didn't hurt any innocents. Why aim for something anyone who thinks about it knows you can't achieve? |

You can't get rid of crime, but you can damn well try, right? And if you go around doing stuff like that, uh, something is clearly wrong. _________________ attitude of a street punk, only cutting selected words out of context to get onself excuse to let one's dirty mouth loose |

| It's a war. What do they expect? People are going to die. That's the idea. That's something they knew when they started it. |

I didn't know it was still a war.
Isn't it supposed to be a stabilize and rebuild mission now?
Correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I've heard. _________________ "I have been having all these dreams where I turn into different monsters.

So it's okay that the gunner lies about being shot at in order to expedite clearance to "return" fire as opposed to waiting for the nearby patrol to arrive and see what's up? _________________ There is a luxury to self-reproach. |

It's not a war. Innocent people aren't supposed to die. That's not the idea. Sure they knew it would happen, shouldn't mean they should be allowed to do it.
edit: although america is at war with everything, like drugs and an emotion, so who knows maybe this is a war _________________ attitude of a street punk, only cutting selected words out of context to get onself excuse to let one's dirty mouth loose

| On the main stream media coverage of this... I may be being blind, but I'm not finding a reference to the new video on Reuters' site. Um. Yeah, the BBC may be covering it, the blogs may be covering it, but that's it, it seems... |

To be fair, it hasn't been up for all that long. I'm sure it'll be picked up.
Al Jazeera has it, by the way. _________________ attitude of a street punk, only cutting selected words out of context to get onself excuse to let one's dirty mouth loose |
