also seriously if a studio is dumb enough to make a sequel |
Well, it grossed $319,123,021 but cost $280,000,000 (they spent like $130,000,000 in advertising) so I guess it wasn't a total loss financially...

Box office gross is not what the studio gets back. You have to deduct check-conversion and other collection costs, the theaters taking their cut, and the MPA deducting its fee.
Nearly every movie loses money for the studio at the box office. Literally almost every one. The movie release is primarily intended to fuel future sales and broadcast right royalties, which feed the studio for decades. If you release a toxic product like this one (which seriously nearly nobody can stand to watch again) the dvd sales are lethargic enough to scare the studios off of funding a sequel.
I mean, it's not impossible that a sequel would get made, but that's only if the studio goes flat out retarded. Likely, they don't want to. |

Yeah, yer probably right, considering the fact that they were giving the movie dvd away when you bought DVD's of the animated series. _________________
