It's going to take real ingenuity to secretly smuggle those mammoths to secretly held fights...

Sure, the condom says, "mammoth size," but everyone knows they're not much bigger than regular condoms. _________________ "Worse comes to worst, my people come first, but my tribe lives on every country on earth. Interesting side note on Mammoths and their extinction. Paleontologists are currently investigating the idea that Bison migrating into the new world had an impact on habitat for horses, Mammoths, and other large mammals. They're no more native here than we are.
Interesting Idea I think. The popular theory these days is people did the dirty work. It certainly matches up to just about every other habitat we've moved into outside of africa. On the other hand there is evidence for an impact event at around that time which would have done interesting and unpleasant things to the environs (even signs of people are hard to find for a good chunk of time after the target date for the impact). I don't see a reason to pick favorites. Probably all of the above contributed and more than likely several factors we don't know about as well.
I do think it would be neat to parcel out some large chunk of land no one is using and populate it with native flora and fauna and or analogues of extinct species (or maybe some cloned mammoths) and see what happens to the ecology. Just re-introducing wolves to Yellowstone had extremely far reaching consequences so I'd be interested to know what a fully functional north american ecology looks like. _________________ "Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid" ~ SGT John Stryker from "Sands of Iwo Jima". |
