I was completely not surprised by Mitch Daniels, namely because my dad has been going on about him for over a year now. _________________ ...if a single leaf holds the eye, it will be as if the remaining leaves were not there.

How do we feel about Gingrich becoming a political Charlie Sheen? Have you seen some of the stuff he's put out of late? He attacked Paul Ryan's Medicare proposal as "right-wing social engineering." Surely, a moment of accidental truth-telling. Anyway, he was assaulted by right wing media for the statement. His response:
Quote: | "The literati sent out their minions to do their bidding. Washington cannot tolerate threats from outsiders who might disrupt their comfortable world. The firefight started when the cowardly sensed weakness. They fired timidly at first, then the sheep not wanting to be dropped from the establishment's cocktail party invite list unloaded their entire clip, firing without taking aim their distortions and falsehoods. Now they are left exposed by their bylines and handles. But surely they had killed him off. This is the way it always worked. A lesser person could not have survived the first few minutes of the onslaught. But out of the billowing smoke and dust of tweets and trivia emerged Gingrich, once again ready to lead those who won't be intimated by the political elite and are ready to take on the challenges America faces." |
More recently:
Quote: | “It’s going to take a while for the news media to realize that you’re covering something that happens once or twice in a century, a genuine grass-roots campaign of very big ideas,” said Gingrich. “I expect it to take a while for it to sink in.” |

Can you tell he's been writing shitty novels since he yakked himself out of power last time? _________________ The older I get, the more certain I become of one thing. True and abiding cynicism is simply a form of cowardice. |
