You know, you hear about the drug cartels building submarines and using them for smuggling, and you think of something made from old refrigerator boxes. And then... holy crap, that's a pretty darn good looking submarine!

Also, anon is pretty cool guy. he drops dox and doesn't afraid of anything. Wait, the Zetas? FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU...

Seriously anon, you make life really annoying for people, for the lulz. I get it; it's what you do. You know what the Zetas cartel does for the lulz? Kidnaps and murders people. Not on the Internet - IRL. You know what they do as a day job, and what they do when they're pissed at someone trying to make life annoying for them? EXACTLY THE SAME THING AS THEY DO FOR TEH LULZ. KIDNAP/MURDER IS THEIR REACTION TO EVERY EXTERNAL STIMULUS. The only question is degree of creative. Jeeze, how dumb can you get?

But isn't that the point though? that the Zetas have kidnapped one of the Anon and they are striking back the only way they know how?

Yeah that's why I said 800 lbs, of marijuana was a small amount. TONS of coke (the article you linked says about 7500 kilos) can be smuggled by submarine then uh yeah, 800 lbs. (~350 kilos) of marijuana seems small by comparison.

So has anyone heard this story about how one of the Cartels has kidnapped some kid who is apparently part of Anonymous? How awesome if this story going to play out (except of course that there is a kid who is going to be killed / has been killed).

I for one am planning a DDOS attack on, um, cocaine?

They released him, with the message that if Anon tried to dox anybody in the Zetas they'd kill ten times as many people as Anon outed. Plus the kid's family.

So Sean Connery was right.

It occurs to me that if the cartels start making their own jets we can officially say they have become a real life equivalent of Cobra.

Well, unless it's that one from Perfect Dark. Man, the laptop gun was pretty awesome, back in the day.

Hi, I'm Perfect Dark. I'm going to put my perfect aim laptop gun turret up right here in the hallway like so, then pull out my farsight in the corner and watch through the walls for when people pass over the farsight spawn point. Then shoot them. Through the walls. I sure do love games with no sanity in weapon balance.

The cartels use a different kind of "underground railroad"

US authorities find major drug tunnel in San Diego

Quote:
SAN DIEGO (AP) — An estimated 17 tons of marijuana were seized in the discovery of a cross-border tunnel that authorities said Wednesday was one of the most significant secret drug smuggling passages ever found on the U.S.-Mexico border. The tunnel discovered Tuesday stretched about 400 yards (400 meters) and linked warehouses in San Diego and Tijuana, authorities said. U.S. authorities seized about nine tons of marijuana inside a truck and at the warehouse in San Diego's Otay Mesa area, said Derek Benner, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agent in charge of investigations in San Diego. Mexican authorities recovered about eight tons south of the border.

Authorities spoke at a news conference near packages of seized dope festooned with labels of Captain America, Sprite and Bud Light. The markings are codes to identify the owners. Photos taken by Mexican authorities show an entry blocked by bundles that were likely stuffed with marijuana, said Paul Beeson, chief of the Border Patrol's San Diego sector. Tunnel walls were lined with wood supports. The passage was equipped with lighting and ventilation systems. The tunnel was about four feet high and three feet wide. It dropped about 20 feet on the U.S. side.

Two men allegedly seen leaving the warehouse in a truck packed with about three tons of pot were pulled over Tuesday on a highway in suburban La Mesa and arrested. A California Highway Patrol officer was overwhelmed by the smell, according to a federal complaint.

semi related, seemed appropriate enough:
The Texans who live on the ‘Mexican side’ of the border fence: ‘Technically, we’re in the United States’
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/texas-americans-live-wrong-side-border-fence-christmas-183312787.html
Quote:
BROWNSVILLE, Texas—Pamela Taylor's living room has a Santa-hat-wearing stuffed dog atop a red doily on her coffee table, poinsettias near the couch, and, in the center of the room, an angel-topped Christmas tree with a few wrapped presents underneath.

Outside, the Christmas spirit is less visible, amid repeated warnings to KEEP OUT—though a "Merry Christmas!" sign hangs next to a warning to would-be trespassers that they're being filmed by a surveillance system. Written outside the front gate is the message: "Don't even think about parking here." This will be Taylor's fourth Christmas living on what some Texans call the "Mexican side" of the U.S. border fence. Although she lives in Texas, her home is south of the 18-feet steel-and-concrete border wall erected by the American government. Taylor, who is 84, can see it from her front porch.

The wall was built to satisfy a law, passed in 2006 and 2008, that authorized 700 miles of fence on the southern border, 315 miles of it in Texas. President Bush said the fence would make the border safer and was "an important step toward immigration reform." Many of the 2012 Republican presidential candidates, with the exception of Texas Gov. Rick Perry, say they want to build a fence that spans the entire U.S. border. The Brownsville area shows just how complicated that project would be.

Because of a decades-old treaty with Mexico prohibiting building in the Rio Grande floodplain, the government built its border fence more than a mile north of the snaky river, trapping tens of thousands of acres of Texas--land in Cameron and Hidalgo counties--on the wrong side of the fence. The border wall is also riddled with miles-long gaps, seemingly placed at random. The U.S. Border Patrol says that illegal crossers are pushed to these gaps, where they are more easily apprehended. Some Texans, like Taylor, live completely on the other side of the $6.2 million-a-mile wall. Others had their property split in half by the fence, after the government seized portions of their land. At least 200 people in Cameron County had some of their land seized for the fence.
