Why can't everyone be like me and sit secure in their own superiority? It certainly takes less energy. _________________

...yeah. |
Post hoc ergo propter hoc, tally hoooo!
Obviously women hate politics. Just ask Angela Merkel. Benazir Bhutto, Malalai Joya, Hillary Clinton, Pratibha Patil, Julia Gillard, Condoleeza Rice, the 25% of MPs in the British House of Commons who are women, or any of the other female heads of state. Why do they spend their lives doing something they obviously hate? _________________ "Worse comes to worst, my people come first, but my tribe lives on every country on earth. you do realize, don't you, that women, for the most part, have been legally prohibited from serving in combat positions? and that the legislators who made those laws were predominantly men? and that women (at least in the US) have in fact been fighting for, yes, the privilege, to serve in ANY capacity in the military?
yes, women are certainly at fault because a bunch of men decided that women need to be protected and kept from any sort of experience with the hard old world, no matter how much the women themselves want to be out in it!

| yeah, while being in the army isn't everyone's cup of tea, for the more patriotic it's an honor. since there's no draft these days, everyone who's there is there because they want to be. it's a choice people make, and women don't need to be "protected" from that choice |

and as you may have noticed, a lot of women _are_ volunteering. and not just for the military.. but even though women have been wounded and killed while serving in the military, they are only now (like, literally, less than three months now) being officially allowed into combat positions.
so yes, women are making gains, but things like this show that we still have a ways to go, and people still need to fight for those changes. see this article, from just 18 months ago - that's where things were. _________________ aka: neverscared! |
