Well if it's an official debate wouldn't it only be between people who have a chance of being the next president? |
Don't you hate narratives like that? |

like, Romney was just straight up lying or stating platitudes. ROMNEY WILL IMPROVE JOBS! ALSO ROMNEY WILL GIVE EVERYONE A PONY! |
Not that I'm a Romney fan, but that strategy worked in 2008. |
well Obama is an incumbent. Plus debates do not matter enough for Romney to get over the massive way he's behind.
plus, VP-debate is coming up after this one and Biden will just fucking tear up Ryan like fuck. |
Is this the same Biden who just recently said the middle class has been buried over the last four years (somehow forgetting who the President has been over that time span), or is Beau going to be there instead? |

I think it'll be broadcast on at least pbs.org, amongst other places. Yeah, I have a feeling that the VP debate is going to be all kinds of unintentional funny. _________________

I'm of mixed feelings on it and surprisingly enough this is a thread I'd rather not crap completely all over. _________________

A bit of a catch 22 that one though. Ever since the late 80's, when the Democrats and Republicans got fed up with having to debate third party candidates and getting difficult questions they overrode the League of Women voters and founded their own private corp to run the debates.
Something which the vast majority of people still today oppose. In the 90's they had to say that if any candidate gets 15% in three consecutive polls they should be allowed in. I'm dubious if they would do it even if that were to happen. _________________ "Moderation in temper, is always a virtue; but moderation in principle, is a species of vice. " - Thomas Paine |

Anyone else recall the bit where Romney said he would allow twice as much drilling on federal land? Overall, it seemed like he kept trying to bait Obama into a mudslinging match. _________________

I just realized that Romney's attack on Sesame Street makes perfect sense! Children don't pay taxes or vote.
It's brilliant!
