My stool girl (chair related) cried for much of the day, despite my order to my stool girl (toilet related) to comfort her. It is so difficult to find people willing to work hard these days.

goddamit I missed this. Welcome back Dro.

I hear there's methods for keeping those girls in line.

What are you doing in Iowa City, Yorick? I lived there for 6 years.

Usagi, the family is well. Allow me a cute kid story. My 4 year old started walking around the preschool with his eyes closed. The teachers were alarmed and told him that he was going to bump into something. He said, "Haven't any of you heard of echolocation?". How is life for you?

I'm keeping fairly busy at work. I don't seem to have much time for forums anymore, though I peek in occasionally.

This year the boy insisted on being PacMan for Halloween. And a spherical PacMan, not the much easier pill-shaped PacMan. I made patterns out of newspaper draped over an exercise ball. Forty dollars worth of upholstery foam, five yards of yellow and black fabric, a sheet of foam core, some velcro, a couple hours of sewing by the Formidably Competent Mrs, a bit of duct tape and a couple of large binder clips later, voila, PacMan.

Next year he's making his own dang costume.
