Yeah. Neuronal transmission is fast, but it still takes time, and adding more brain areas necessarily increases the total time. Plus, memory is special. Even people who have developed Wernicke's aphasia (an impairment that causes the use of the wrong words, or "word salad") can often recite text that they've memorized.

Before even talking about whether or not I agree or disagree with his message, I find Tat isnt doing a very good job of "Show, don't tell" storytelling with his themes lately. I dont know.
Regarding the message, bah, I dont really think the govt should police morality in this area using hardline bans. I dont watch pornography, and I find the idea of paying for it kind of takes the fun out of sex, but personally I would prefer a system of incentives and disincentives from the govt rather than a flat out ban. It's important to remember that sometimes simply making something which is immoral also illegal doesn't actually reduce its prevalence as much as "soft" power does.

I agree completely. Tat has lost some subtlety in the last few years. I guess that he is focusing more in the message element of comics than the storytelling point of view, so he wants to keep things absolutely clear. |

Glossy and her comrades doesn't understand gender discrimination at all...prostitution and pornography aren't its root, they are just manifestations that happen in societies that are rich enough to afford to spend money on sex.
For a start, a lot of people who strongly discriminates women hates sex, specially pornography and prostitution. Just read some religious book. Any religious book.
Second, women were discriminated long before there existed money, or clothes or proffesional artists. Go read a book about the yanomami, for example.
Third gays like gay porn...do they discriminate themselves?.
Fourth, even if people found a way to reproduce without sex, and all men in the world were hypnotized to become gay, hence removing the need and desire for heterosexual sex, that doesn't mean they would become respectful to women...gays can be every inch as chauvinist as heterosexual men.
Women have been discriminated for social an economic reasons, because any group that has a disvantage (like being smaller, with shorter arms and hence able to wield a club or throw a spear or draw a bow with less power) will be quickly pushed down and exploited. |

I had thought Xanthe was derived from http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xanthippe but the Amazon names make sense. Maybe they actually are Amazons.
