Apparently all 3 cops involved had prior incidents involving abuse of people in custody, but none had been reprimanded for it.
the police department has put the 3 on paid leave.

| There were some cops who pretty much robbed a grocery. As I recall, they went as far as to systematically dismantle the security system and surveillance cameras. But they didn't know there was a back up hard drive. |

some days i really miss ags. like when i read a story like this - and remember the huge argument we had over whether or not felons should be able to regain their right to vote.
but i guess voting is not in the bill of rights. _________________ aka: neverscared! |

I'm suddenly very interested in getting an official NRA spokesman to give the group's position on voting rights for felons.
They've gotten more extreme over the years, especially as a defense against scrutiny and public opinion from the recent shooting tragedies. It seems to me that they want an America where buying a handgun is no more regulated than buying a stack of printer paper. It'd be nice to see if they feel the same way about the power to have a say in the democratic process as they do about being armed. |

Yet they supported, then governor of California, Ronald Reagan's restriction of gun rights when it targeted the Black Panthers. Was it because they were less extreme back then or was it because they really don't want everyone to have the right to own a gun? _________________ "Moderation in temper, is always a virtue; but moderation in principle, is a species of vice. they were definitely less extreme when reagan was governor. when they started, they were very much about responsible gun ownership - they taught gun safety, all kinds of stuff like that. i don't remember the black panther stuff explicitly, but if it was in the context of preventing people with criminal records from getting guns, my sense is the earlier NRA might have supported that (now, the sociological and political issues of who is more likely to end up with a criminal record - that's another issue.) there was a coup in about 1977 and a much more extreme group took over leadership....and they've just gotten more extreme ever since. _________________ aka: neverscared! |

Over 50 people die in Post bus accident
There's some graphic photos in there, caught me off guard.
In a way though, it makes it more sad and terrible. Pictures of wreckage and grainy pictures of victims is another. _________________
