man, i'd forgotten that! yeah, he was russian and his english was ....interesting. he and i got into a thing about the meaning of the word 'tamed', turned out his entire knowledge of the word came from reading "the little prince".
but that cat, now - he never did make the thing with the cat clear. because it wasn't just any old door, it was a heavy door that took most people two hands to open!
