See the comments she gave, to me, would seem like someone you don't want anything to do with. Just because people speak to you, doesn't mean they like you or even respect you. And with the way she usually acts, as you said not warmly or happy, which could lead to Slick maybe even thinking, "What I do doesn't matter, she's going to be mean either way."

It is possible that Slick thinks that, but the question was "When has she ever reached out to Slick," and that falls on Xanthe's attempts to reach out (no matter how bad they were), not on Slick's reactions.

True, but did she ever ask him to BE an ally?

It reminds me of an old tool time joke. "I left notes for time to get a suit ready, I told him to leave 8:00 on free on friday, I did everything but tell him that we were going to a dinner. Oh crap, I DIDN'T tell him that."

It's hard to be an ally to someone when you treat them like they are still your enemy, and never tell them you consider them an ally.

You shouldn't have to ask someone to be a decent person, and she was under the impression that he was making some progress, because he was showing her that he was making progress.

You don't ask someone to be your friend. You just pay attention to them and they pay attention to you, and it just sort of happens. This is similar.

I'm not going to ship them because I just don't see it working out. I see friendly nemesis, or even bash brother and sister, but love... nope don't see it.

True, but being a decent person, and being an ally, are not the same thing. Maybe Slick never felt she was being treated like a decent person by the sisterhood or Xzanthe. As you said, friendship just is a feeling, a feeling Slick may have never got.

But again, this is Kcils were dealing with, not Slick. He's actually in the right here.

In this case, they most certainly are.

Also, would it be wrong if a decent person said. I didn't help, because I'd be afraid I'd make you seem weak, or you'd think I thought you were weak."

I don't know, the fact she didn't immediately shut him down when he got that cookie and was going on about how they were allies seems to imply she did give him a chance. Though her remark did somewhat imlpy that she did not appreciate the fact he was making a big deal out of calling out sexism once.

However - we know Xanthe - and we know that if she felt that he were insincere in any way, shape or form, she would call attention to it immediately. She would express that she feels that he is insincere. However, instead, she chose not to and only told him to just eat his cookie - a remark that actually comes across as a bit playful, really.

So to some degree- that alone gives off the impression that she must have had some hope in him. Thus it's logical that she would be quite disappointed and in fact hurt that he would not stick up for her when she would need someone to stick up for her, and in fact hurt by the fact he pretended as if he did not see anything. From her POV, of course, as we know that it was Sleaze, not Slick. But she didn't know that.

Meanwhile, Slick is still likely under the impression that they're pals now. Ooh, quite a dramabomb is going to drop! This is going to hurt my dear old shipper heart...

I mean slick isn't sleaze, there was no ally there today.

Yup but Xanthe doesn't know that, she only saw Slick turning his back to her.

True, but why would Xanthe know that and be able to make that distinction? She has no reason to be familiar with Slick's alter ego. Heck, Slick himself doesn't seem too terribly aware of his nightwalking self!
