Mark "Hiking the Appalachian Trail" Sanford has won the Republican primary for South Carolina's vacant Congressional seat. As it's South Carolina, and he's got an R next to his name... he's effectively just been voted back into office. Guh.

Yes, well, the GOP in my birth state is trying to create an official state religion, because the constitution only applies to the FEDERAL level with regard to that!

Also now two years of mandatory counseling are required before any divorce can be finalized.

They're going to be really confused when they run into THEIR OWN FRIGGEN STATE CONSTITUTION.

http://www.ncleg.net/Legislation/constitution/ncconstitution.html

Article 1, Section 13

Sec. 13. Religious liberty.

All persons have a natural and inalienable right to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own consciences, and no human authority shall, in any case whatever, control or interfere with the rights of conscience.

I give that Roger Ebert a thumbs up based on his wonderful contribution criticism, his pioneering spirit on the internet, and his bravery in the last years of his life.
