Yeah, she's not just trolling him. Although I think she's a bit harsh calling him a jackass. He's just proud of himself.

The fact that he has a cookie, a new one, says slick isnt trying to rest on his laurels, though that girl is not into him, and he should bother another girl instead.

Unless you think he should stand up for his new womanrespecting version.
Or maybe it's a magic regenerating cookie.

He could also buy a cookie whenever he thinks he's been a good ally.

I think he is honestly trying, and that he probably does do good things and earn cookies for them. He's just got more to work out. Slick reminds me of a lot of people who have come a long way, but still have a long way to go.

Or maybe now that he knows someone who'll hand them out, he goes there bragging with his hands out for more.

Maybe he shows up every morning at Nana's with a story about some Act of Allyship(TM) he performed the day before. Like an ally cookie patron.

I think Nana is a bit wiser than that. I don't think she'd give an undeserved cookie.

It may just be a continuity error, butI like to think maybe Slick is actually truly scoring the cookies by trying to be more ally-ish (ally-like? ally-esque? ally-ally-olsen-free?) but sometimes I'm a bit naive.

Last name, technically speaking. It's her last name, not first name.

And I thought it was disturbing too, it's kind of a gross sexual comment for him to be making since it's her last name... but.. she doesn't seem to mind too much?? And I guess her feelings on the matter are really the only ones that matters in this situation... I mean... it's her name, after all... not ours.

(Yes. I took note of the innuendo behind Slick's comment from the very instant that the strip was posted, and I blogged about it eagerly. I also blogged eagerly about the fact she does not seem at all bothered by it.)

Is Slick even aware that her last name is Justice? Is he even aware of her FIRST name??

Yeah it's more or less just how it's always been with them. Turmoil but funny. I mean, seriously...Slick's face in this made me laugh. Just his, "What?" expression, hearing Nique's voice chastising him when she's not even there.

actually, i think it's some sort of robo-voice (it's in a sort of squared-off font) which would be even funnier - he's not being chastised by someone who has chastised him before, it's some weird flying robot.
