I know this is unlikely, but I'm hoping for divine intervention. We haven't seen God for a while, and he could probably turn this scary situation into an absolutely hilarious one.
If that darn roof wasn't in the way...

Every time you post I'm less convinced you actually have read the comic for as long as your join date indicates.

I... think I agree. The Devil was a cheap joke in the earlier strips. He didn't really start gaining any depth until it was revealed that he had some sort of relationship with Lil E.

Well, given that he is the supreme and divine ruler of sock-puppets, a puny roof wouldn't be able to stand in his way, if he wished to intervene...the actual problem with such a case is that Tat has abandoned god more than he has abandoned the dragon (*sob*)[/i]

Oh, I completely agree.

With that said, though... What wasn't a cheap joke there? Up until, say, 2011 (Not sure) Sinfest was indisputably comedy-oriented. The characters, even the ones with serious nature like Obama or Uncle Sam, were played for laughs and ridicule. I don't think I even need to mention the fact that the game has changed.

Sinfest is oriented towards message now. A lot of times the message is about revolution. About fighting a status quo. And quite often it's not a happy fight.

Now I enjoy laughing at the Prince of Darkness' immaturity almost as much as Big G. does... However, it's worth remembering that he is, quite literally, The Enemy. And this is far more direct when he's shown as the face for Patriarchy. Right now, Sinfest is about a fight against the Devil, he isn't just another character to be added in a colourful cast as he was before.

The stronger the Devil is, the stronger and braver the Sisterhood becomes by direct enmity. He requires respect. He requires his victories. If he doesn't, he becomes Team Rocket. At one point it's hard to see any sort of threat in him.

When was the last time Tat gave us a resolution of any kind, easy or otherwise?

All arcs end.

Some end well. Some end poorly.
I'm hoping this arc ends with consequences that make it worthwhile and meaningful. Too often does Tat have pointless arcs that might as well have never happened.
