nah, it's 1) pretty difficult to prove it was done purposefully and 2) only looks like a penis because of the angle of the picture.

That said, it's an infinitely more plausible conspiracy theory to think that NASA guys (or gals) were drawing a penis with a rover than to think that the whole Boston bombing was backed by the government.

Yeah, it was an accident someone noticed. I like it better that it was unintentional.

Somewhere, once upon a time, I remember seeing a comical chart that showed the likelihood of mischief to the level of boredom.

In my warped, weird mind, I imagine someone getting fired over that sort of thing resulting in comical situations:

Future job interviewer: So, Mr. Stevenson, it says here you were asked to step down from your position at NASA. Would you care to elaborate on that?

It looks like, despite earlier reports of multiple weapons, the Boston Bombers only had one gun, a Ruger pistol. Looking like the attack on the MIT cop may have been to try to get his weapons. Also interesting? It's looking like they got their powder for the bombs from fireworks, not from reloading supplies.

If only the ending part to that segment wasn't so easy to guess. Of course it's sacrosanct, duh!

so... it seems dubya's presidential museum has opened.

i am interested in one choice they have made: you get to second-guess "the decider"
Quote:
As many as 24 visitors at a time are presented with one of four situations — the invasion of Iraq, the troop buildup in 2007, Hurricane Katrina or the financial crisis. Visitors have four minutes to pull up videos of actors playing White House aides, generals, lawmakers and others giving advice, then they pick one of three options.

When the room has voted, either Mr. Card or Mr. Bolten appears on the main screen to announce the result. Then Mr. Bush appears to describe what he did.

one wonders if they will keep a running tally of the results, to see how well visitors (at least) agree with the president and/or history's judgement on his decisions.

If they have actors portraying people giving the President advice, what's to keep them from making all of the advice to point you toward repeating W's decisions? That seems like the sort of thing a politician would do to try and convince people he made the right decision at the time.

well, it's videos, so no interaction. and you have a limited number of choices - i think on iraq they are 'invade iraq' and 'leave saddam hussein in power'. so, yeah, he's not going overboard in encouraging people to see the other side of things - plus, i would guess that the people who go to the museum are likely to be his supporters. so the data would definitely trend pro-his-decisions.

still....the idea that he gives people a chance to make a decision at all is .... interesting. especially since he always seems so sure that history will prove him right, and seems content to wait for history's decision. but this kinda sounds like he wants reassurance in the here-and-now.

maybe not. but it's different.

how the hell do tobacco workers fit in with bakers, confectioners, and grain millers?
