On a care bears related note, I always wanted to cosplay as Dark Heart from the second film - a red track suit, red contacts, and a reddish dye job. I am curious how many people would get it.

I could picture exactly who you meant from the description but I don't think I would make the connection from just the costume.

Stuff like that can be REALLY tricky-a lot of times you just like a dude or gal wearing clothes, and people don't know you're actually *cosplaying*, so that little trigger of "I wonder who they are?" never fires. I know when I cosplayed as James (from Silent Hill 2), there weren't too many people that got it. (Though a few noted the pocket flashlight and went "AHA.")

He did at one point in the film, with imprisoned souls in it. If I can find a picture of it, i'll link to it (But of course what I'm mostly finding is fanart porn. Because google)

Edit: Actually, i think he wore a key.

I only cosplayed once, with two costumes: first as Folken from Escaflowne, and K from Gravitation. No one recognized Folken, but people did recognize K.

To make the Folken costume more fun, me and a friend (Who dressed as Dilandau, another character from the same series) handed out slips of paper congratulating other people on being drafted into our army. We got a laugh out of someone dressed as a stormtrooper, which was awesome. And then later we did a skit advertising a 'good' life in our military. So people may not have known who we were, but they got an idea what type of people our characters were.

I think with Dark Heart, I'd have to carry a care bear in a cage - a homemade one with a sad look on its face.

He was......SATAN!

But he learned to care amd be a normal kid at camp, so I dunno what that says. Maybe that the devil is actually a 14 year old picking on younger kids.

that's actually one of the more plausible theological explanations for the existence of evil that I've come across.

I'm sorry but I can't help but to be amused that the rape discussion thread turned into a two page discussion on the care bears.

I always liked my idea that god was off somewhere aving an existential crisis, and the devil was an overworked entity trying to pick up he pieces. But this s a fun idea too.
