This strip. Wow. I wasn't sure Tat would continue with that or not, but I'm glad he did. This is epic.

And the use of color in this one! Love it. It really sets the mood.

So, wait, now Hell is accessible through...

Oh, the hell with it, I don't even care about how time and space works in this strip any more.

Her best friend was trapped in the lowest level of hell, and she has descended into the underworld to free him. Game = reality. Very Happy

It's probably a couple of things: The hands of the damned are suddenly gnarled claws, and Lil-E...his eyes. At first glance, they appear jet-black because the corneas aren't whited-in.

I love how Tat blurred the background in that panel, to keep the focus on Lil-E.

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH LILLLYYYY

THIS IS EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED IN A SUNDAY STRIP

TAT YOU LITERALLY MADE MY DAY

That sad balloon omfg.

Every expression is perfect.

I cannot wait to see what happens next. I am so excited for whatever this leads to now. Will they end up in the mansion? Will he encounter big D? Will tragic fatherly things happen? Will they encounter Absinthe and/or Blue? Will Lil'E find out about his past? What if they find that vault his childhood photos are in? SO MUCH POSSIBILITY.

Putting distant objects out of focus: They did that at the start of Lion King, IIRC the switch in focus is called a "rack pan".

Also: Tat has tended to limit the colour palette in the past, to ensure the GIF format plays nice. The 2-tone mixes in some of the latest Sunday strips are an evolution [check the bathroom with Blue & Fuschia for another example].

The level of sophistication in Tat's artwork is growing. He may even switch to PNG format, to allow for more colour ranges in future artwork. One cell with a range of blues [for Blue] one with Fuschia & red, one more with Lime green... that would quickly add up in GIF but PNG would handle it just fine.

I would actually pay like $50 for a glossy book of the last two or so years comic strips including the Sunday colour ones. And this is coming from the biggest cheapskate ever. I'm actually really disappointed Tat hasn't really updated what's happening with the compilations in awhile (or any news on the front page, really).
