I wonder if the third panel is Fyoosh's wish, Storytime's, or both.

I'm guessing Storytime's. If it was Fushia's Criminy would be present.

I have this notion in my head that that's Big D's wish, too.

I dunno if I'm just desperate to make him a sympathetic character, but I like to think that what he wants most of all is to be a real person. To finally see the real world, to feel real emotions...

And everything he does now, the corporate empire, the strip clubs, the constant development at deviltech is all now either him venting his frustration at not being able to enter the reality zone... or all work towards the end of inventing some way for him to enter the reality zone.

Now it's already been sort of established that God created the devil for no other purpose than to do evil- but that strip, the whole devil's existential crisis arc, may have been the start of the devil's quest to enter the reality zone- and break free from God's influence... and...

I think I'm overthinking this. Was any of that coherent?

More than half of it was. Especially considering the strip where he's awestruck by the RZ through the robot's eye until it breaks.

The Devil chose to rule in Hell rather than serve in Heaven. It might have not been the smartest choice. What he can get now is superficial. Money, women, luxury? He has that. Now what?

RZ for the Devil or for Fuchsia I think can mean Heaven. It's a beautiful place where they are not allowed and that they both obviously would like to see.

I think that if Sinfest ever ends, it will end with the redemption of Big D. And Tat's insert will make a final return to the reality zone and say goodbye to all the characters and...

NO

SINFEST CAN'T END WHY DID I SAY THAT

It's funny how you proposed the redemption of Big D while lots of people around here reject the idea that Slick has a chance at it

Of course Slick has a chance. Slick's redemption is an established plotline. Tat just hasn't chosen to develop that plotline further yet.

I agree. I think that in the comic Slick has always represented the inner struggle between right and wrong. Tat's pacing might be a bit too slow, though, so we don't get to see that explored a lot.

I don't think Slick has no chance at it, unless he never changes.

I was just watching a show with a character that had a similar development problem. He would grow and show his good qualities, then go right back to square one. The other characters moved beyond him, and everything eventually slipped out beneath him. It would have been different if the character had retained past lessons.

People in real life do that too, which is one reason I think it feels so unsatisfying to see it in fiction.
