Good use of the word whinge. Also, I really like how Tat is drawing eyes these days. _________________ ::lesser crisis mode::

(To be inserted in the middle:)
...
And if that post-patriarchal world get spoilt
Momma's gonna tear down the gender roles
And if those gender roles come back
Momma'll reduce the paid wage gap
And if that paid wage gap don't budge
Momma's gonna marry her lesbian love
And if they don't respect those lines
Momma'll help sex workers organize (This doesn't fit the meter at all, but this is a political folk song so who cares)
And if they break the union down
Momma's gonna start abortion clinics in town
And if the clinics get outlawed
Momma's gonna disspell "rape report fraud"
And if some lawyers still are jerks
Momma's gonna help women of color get work
And if employers still discriminate
Momma's gonna act out (in general) against hate
...
(Reasons I am not a poet, number 1 thorugh 7 (I feel like at least one of them is at least okay...)) |

OK, so "whinge" really is a different word than "whine" and they both mean the same thing. That's bothered me for a long time. _________________

I really like this.Rhythm might be a bit off but the message is very good.
As for Nique, the comic is funny but I have a problem with Nique's stage stuff. Her audience is full of jerks and detractors which isn't her fault of course. However she's...not very good. I consider myself a feminist but I wouldn't want to go see her. Lot's of entertainers support important issues and speak out on them. I know what' is entertaining is subjective but I honestly don't get Nique's show. I wish Tat would use a Sunday strip to show us a full poem or song or something. Before the feminism arc we saw Nique performances that I think were deep and well done. I seriously hope she really isn't just standing on the stage yelling about the patriarchy. |

I doubt it. I think those are just the only parts we see. She may have a more feminist message to her spoken word now, but people scream man-hater when a known feminist talks about ANYTHING (even things that have nothing to do with social justice issues). Example I read yesterday. |

Then I saw this. Yessss.
Really happy to see some of 'Nique's playful sarcasm break through. I feel like we haven't seen it in a while. Tell 'em what's up, grrrl. _________________ Men and patriarchy aren't interchangeable.
