Assuming this holds up to scrutiny by peers and there wasn't any cross contamination of samples, this is interesting as hell.

Parker told police that he tried to jump into a photo that Brown was posing for with a female fan on the sidewalk when the singer said, "I'm not down with that gay s--t" and "I feel like boxing," the police report said. Parker said that Brown then punched him in the face with his closed fist, the report said.

Tools the lot of them.

Your quoting and commentary are amusing, in light of your current avatar.

I approve. =)

except there doesn't seem to be a link with an actual yeti. the single hair from bhutan, according to the video, was found in the forest, so could have come from anything - even if the film makers saw what they thought was a yeti in the immediate vicinity, the hair could have been lost by something else. the description of the second hair differs between the video and the text - the text says a "yeti mummy", but such a thing could have been faked; the video says it came from something shot by an experienced bear-hunter, but that it wasn't a bear. one wonders that this person did not keep the skull - that would have given the teeth and the overall shape of the skull, and an expert might be able to tell if it was, say, a deformed bear. without seeing the whole animal, or even the skeleton, it's hard to say how different it really was from a regular bear - so in turn, how much of the hunter's story was just story. yetis are supposed to be hominid-like, and hominids don't have muzzles anything like bears - one would have expected some mention of such in descriptions, and it doesn't sound like the bear-hunter thought it was something completely other than a bear.

still, the existence of a previously-undescribed bear in that area would be pretty cool.

Oh I wasn't suggesting this would put the whole yeti thing to rest, just that the idea of what is potentially a new large mammal species is pretty cool to me even if it doesn't have thumbs. Smile

The costs of the damages of last night's storm in the Netherlands is estimated around 95 million Euros. 1 person died, 2 people seriously injured and for the rest many fallen trees.

Good news! Orson Scott Card won't make any money from ticket sales to Ender's Game.

It means we can watch the movie without feeling guilty!
It's like getting a tub of ice cream, except all the fats and salts and bad stuff were already injected into our body!

On a more serious note, does anyone else still find it completely impossibly to believe that the guy who wrote Ender's Game, and even more so Speaker for the Dead, is this huge homophobe?
<AllCaps>IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!</AllCaps>

(P.S. Is anybody else getting a weird error message when they submit a post?)

Yeah, the forum's still screwy.

No, I don't find it strange. In fact, you can take this knowledge about Card's political views, go back to his books, and read a lot more into it than before.

I'm kind of concerned that we haven't even had a comic posted in the Sinfest subforum for a few days. Also that the forum seems to have basically died.

The site's been breaking for the past few days. The comics aren't showing up on the main page either.

Sinfest is the cool place to hang out? You can find most of the cool people there? At Sinfest you can just chill and do whatever and totally relax. "Take it easy" is the Sinfest motto, for example, that's how laid back it is there. Show up if you want to have a good time? Another good reason to show up is if you want to hang out with friends?
