It looks a little square for it to be radio, but I guess that's artistic license for you. Radio definitely makes more sense than ECG or EEG. Mh... I don't really like this sub-plot.
I mean sure, I'm happy about the idea of these complex machines gaining independence, but it makes a contrast with Rogue's backstory.
If we go by the idea of remote controlled women being currently impossible in reality, how much more impossible are fully sentient androids? That's why my interpretation back then was that the relationship between Slick and Rogue was the fake thing that was destroyed, as declared by Curly.
This situation destroys such a metaphor.
Now I'm not claiming that I can read Tat's mind and understand what he puts in every strip, but I personally think that the idea of relationships being managed artificially being unable to exist in reality is a better and deeper message than just "androids exposed to reality will become independent."
But that's just me, I guess. I'm just rambling at this point. YMMV.
EDIT: Just now having seen the Sunday strip my opinion did change a bit for some reason. Can't put my finger into what the reason is... But I'm guessing that the resolution had such good emotional impact. _________________ Welcome to Sinfest, the only place with a 46 pages long thread about sentient toasters
