Woman dead for six years, automatic bill payments kept anyone from noticing.

Hmm . . . I'm calling that somebody knew and was trying to hide it. I'll buy the idea of a neighbor cutting her lawn-- I've dealt with plenty of people who care enough about their own lawns to cut their neighbors lawns just so theirs looks better.

But the mail not piling up? Even if someone was getting it for her, they really din't notice in six years? REALLY?

unless she had one of those mail slots in her front door - there could have been a gigantic heap of bills and ads covering the entire entryway. as long as the mailman could fit things through the slot, he might not have noticed.

If your mailbox conspicuously loads up with mail the usps will remove it all and leave a notice that home delivery has been suspended and your mail typically remains held at a post facility elsewhere.

I was thinking autopay with a credit card, which would have expired before 6 years, but if she was loaded when she died then a massive checking account could have carried on for as long as it had money... but you'd have to be pretty reclusive not to have anyone check on you in six years.

Also, what's with her being in the backseat of her car with the key half in the ignition (so probably not a suicide by carbon monoxide)?

Perhaps second thoughts too late, or too weak to completely remove the key?

Russian Troops evict Ukrainian Border Guards, Families

Quote:
KIEV - Ukraine’s border guards said today (March 8 ) some of their men had been evicted from an outpost in eastern Crimea by Russian soldiers, who seized their apartments and forced them out in the middle of the night with their families.

It was not immediately possible independently to confirm the report, the latest confrontation between Russian troops who seized the Black Sea peninsula last week and the detachments of Ukrainians who remain there.

Russian forces in uniforms with no markings have surrounded Ukrainian bases in the occupied peninsula since they seized it last week, and the region’s Russian separatist leadership has ordered the Ukrainians to surrender.

So far there has been no shooting, but standoffs at bases have become increasingly tense. The Ukrainians are heavily outnumbered and outgunned and have offered no resistance.

“Aggressive Russian troops stormed and seized a unit of the border service at Shcholkine and ousted the families of the Ukrainian borders guards,” the Ukrainian border service said in a statement.

“Russian armed servicemen rushed into the unit overnight. During the attack, they beat a duty officer who tried to resist and seized a weapons storage room. The attackers rushed into the apartments where families lived.

“Russians seized mobile phones of the chief of the unit, his wife and other officers. They ordered all to pack up and leave the building. At the present time, the unit is occupied by Russian soldiers.”

But the car would have to be off in order for it to be half out. I guess it's possible that she had enough energy to turn it off and get it half way out, then collapsed. It wouldn't take long, if the garage didn't ventilate, to die even if the car was off.

6 people put in hospital by fascists in Malmö after the International Womens Day demo. 4 of them with serious injuries, particularly knife wounds, one still in hosptial with a punctured lung although as of 9 this morning his condition is reported to be stable. Who did this? 2 people have been arrested, both are reportedly members of a group calling themselves "The Swedes Party", formerly know as National Socialist Front. They are the Swedish sister party of Ukrainian Svoboda, in fact one of the arrested, the vice chairman of SvP in the Skåne region just came back from Ukraine. Here he is in Kiev:

For the record, while I couldn't claim to know the guy in hopital, I lived in Malmö for 2 years, I've met him and we have many friends in common. Also I too was at an International Womens Day demo yesterday. I might add some English language links to this as I find them.

And here we go: SHOCKING: Swedish advocate from “Football supporters against homophobia” stabbed by Nazis & fighting for his life

As usual the police stick to their "extremists fighting" mantra "Witnesses, however, claim that people who attended the demonstration were attacked and that the people rushed to hospital were assaulted. The police can neither confirm nor deny these claims".

Chicago taxi trade magazine publishes a really bad piece of satire.

http://chicagodispatcher.com/five-secretly-gay-aldermen-p2499-1.htm

I really hope it's an attempt at satire.

Demand number 9 is, "Ban the internet in the city of Chicago and require folks to buy newspapers." I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's satire. Weird satire, but satire.
