Apparently it's now Superman v. Batman v. Xena.

Quote: | The three titles will take place between "A New Hope" and "The Empire Strikes Back" and explore the aftermath of the Death Star's destruction for both the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire.
Come January 2015, the Force will be with Marvel Entertainment. Not only is that the month when the publisher will release the first in a series of hardcover collections featuring Marvel's original Star Wars comics, published concurrently with the original trilogy, but it's also the month which launches a new line of Star Wars comic books, created by high-profile creators including Jason Aaron, Kieron Gillen and John Cassaday. |

Saw "John Wick" the other day and I'm not really understanding why it's getting such good reviews so far, to be honest. It had about maybe 15-20 minutes of dialog total. The rest of the time it was all Keanu looking brooding while shooting a whole bunch of people in the head and pretty much acting out my username. If you like a visceral trill, I guess this could be for you, but it wasn't my cup of tea.
Though I did like the soundtrack and the interaction between Keanu's character and the main Big Bad Guy sort of reminded me of the old "Sam and Ralph" Warner Brother's cartoons. _________________ Valar Morghulis. |

the less acting keanu reeves tries to do, the better, so that's a good sign, i guess |

As much as I would love to have been blessed with a career involving acting and making people happy, my excessively poor memory prevented that. Keanu is not a good actor. That's my opinion and it may be not the most positive, but I do envy that he's at least out there, doing what he has a passion for and making an honest living while doing so.
It has always been my greatest hope to one day be an actor or comedian and bring some measure of happiness and joy to people. If anything, knowing that I could give people a brief reprieve from their troubles in life would be the greatest blessing ever. There is so much trouble and doubt in the world, if we could all just do our part in trying to make the world just a tiny bit better for everybody, we would all benefit so much. _________________ Valar Morghulis.

I refuse to subscribe to the idea that Reeves just lucked out by being a tall handsome dude who got shoe horned into movies. He's perfect in the Bill & Ted movies, as the dumber of two dumb dudes. So, yeah, that doesn't work in his favor, I guess. But as a blank slate in the Matrix movies, he's perfect. And as an awkward outlander in Coppolla's Dracula he's really, well, special.
Basically he's really good.
He's just often terrible.
But really good despite that.
He's certainly one of the most loveable movie stars working today. And he certainly is a movie star.
A terrible movie star.
A really good terrible movie star.
Our parents had Jack Nicholson, Steve McQueen & Paul Newman.
But still, kicking Reeves is low and rude and everyone who slags him off should be made to eat sandwiches alone on a cold bench. |

I've not done much for the last ten days but watch movies and continue to be an insufferable drunk fuck.
I really enjoyed Pontypool as a weird 'zombie movie', and really enjoyed In A World as a just wonderful 'indie' movie. And I watched and hated a number of Ti West 'horror' movies.
However, the movie 'Frank' meant a shitload to me. Me & my friends being local to the birth, work, and death of Chris Sievey (aka FRANK SIDEBOTTAM) we paid special attention to this movie coming out. Figured it was some sort of Glam of his weird life. It's not, mind, though he would have enjoyed it. It's a wonderful movie about 'cool' and outsider art, and fairly unsentimental about both ideas.
And it also has a kick ass soundtrack. |

I know it's an older movie but the other night we watched Sucker Punch and actually enjoyed the hell out of it. Just don't take it seriously because goodness knows they didn't. _________________ Valar Morghulis. |
