There's a bar in Portland where all of the art looks classical and old-timey, but with a Death Star instead of a moon, or a dinosaur in the trees. It's almost distracting, because in the middle of a conversation you'll notice a tribble you'd never seen before and forget what you were saying.

If you visit this Flickr page, you can help identify old films - https://www.flickr.com/photos/nfig/sets/

They are looking for anything, like where a film appears to be set and what country it seems the film was made in.

That's a super cool idea. It doesn't work too well on my computer with firefox, unfortunately. i might try it with Chrome later.

Nope. I follow the @openscience twitter account, and occasionally I see things I think are worth spreading. I figured there was a possibility someone here might know something about whatever they're asking for.

That is awesome! I don't know much about the details on science breakthroughs. I just think it's all awesome, so I pass on what I can. Usually I try to pass on things that look amazing - like how 3d printing cartilage might eradicate arthritis. I figure that if those of us who don't know much about science do have some ideas about the amazing things that can be done with it, maybe scientific studies will get more funding and support.

(Yes, I alone, with my twitter feed, will save science.)

Yes, and on behalf of science I will bring you a cape. I'll be in town tomorrow, when would you like to collect it?
