Hateful homophobes arrested after blocking PRIDE parade.

http://abc6onyourside.com/news/local/pride-protesters-arrested-after-confrontation-with-police

http://www.10tv.com/article/police-4-arrests-2-officers-hurt-columbus-pride-festival

Of course, you have to read down a bit before they get to who these hateful people represent.

Quote:
Hasson said the protesters were linked to Black Lives Matter.

Quote:
Protesters told 10TV the People's Justice Project was joined by several other local groups for the gathering today.

The groups said they wanted a seven-minute break and moment of silence during the parade for Philando Castile.

Gee, I wonder if they had just contacted the people running the parade and asked, maybe they would have been agreeable to at least a moment of silence. Nah, let's just force them to accede to our demands!

This seems to be a developing trend. Prog harder, people!

Another terrorist attack in London; this time by a white man against Muslims.

Yeah, that will make things better.

I'm wondering how this will play out. Those from the Mosque, and Khan (the mayor of London), are characterizing this as terrorism, while some radio reports are using the world "retaliatory".

What I'm keen to see is, if he acted alone, whether they start calling him a lone wolf terrorist, or if him being white leads them to simply characterize him as a racist criminal.

I'm sure he'll play the terror PTSD card if he listens to his lawyers either way.

EDIT: Arrested on "suspicion of murder" so far.

Whether or not the guy is from the loony bin or just a plain small-minded racist, you can be assured that it'll be exploited no end by Daesh sympathisers. Thus the vicious circle begins.

It'll be a tall order to defuse this.

otto warmbier has died. he was the US college student convicted of trying to steal a propaganda poster in north korea, he was recently returned home after spending at least a year in a coma.

i'm guessing we are now looking at an increase of anti-north-korea rhetoric...one can hope it will only be that.

I will just sit back and wait to see how Warmbier's death was all the fault of the American government.

to be clear about the situation, he was sent back dead

extensive, permanent loss of consciousness in a PVS meant he was pretty much a blinking corpse

Gunshots are the third leading killer of children in the US:
Of all the children killed by guns in high-income countries, 91 percent are from US.

Quote:
Nearly 1,300 children aged 0 to 17 are killed by gunshots each year in the US, and nearly 5,800 more suffer from non-lethal gunshot wounds, researchers estimate in a study published Monday in Pediatrics.

In all, about 19 children die or are wounded each day from firearms, either by homicide, suicide, or unintentional shootings. Firearm-related deaths are now the third leading cause of death among US children and the second leading cause of injury-related deaths, behind car crashes.

Likely, that was a prerequisite to release so as to prevent any ability to recount his experience.

When you look at it, it's more proactive then sending back his head in a box, since they now have the ability to spin it as US medical care killing him. I expect they have video and photos of a furnished hospital room and smiling nurses to show in the press.

If they wanted to use him to provoke the US, that sure was the best way to do it.

So, basically all your very private information has been leaked. I suggest you never tell anyone you don't know personally ever anything again.

Odd that people are still reacting to this as if it was fresh news. Big Brother moved past watching you long ago, we're giving him all (raise you hand Facebook users) he needs.

The question is is there another way out except putting a Guy Falkes' mask on or not giving a fuck.

This is something different; this is all the information on almost all US voters in a database without any protection whatsoever. This includes stuff about how you think about abortion. The RNC just put it out there for some reason.

well, fuck - who needs the russians when the RNC will do you in. and it's not even necessarily correct - some of it is supposition:
Quote:
Apart from personal details, the data also contained citizens' suspected religious affiliations, ethnicities and political biases, such as where they stood on controversial topics like gun control, the right to abortion and stem cell research.

The file names and directories indicated that the data was meant to be used by influential Republican political organisations. The idea was to try to create a profile on as many voters as possible using all available data, so some of the fields in the spreadsheets were left left empty if an answer could not be found.

"That such an enormous national database could be created and hosted online, missing even the simplest of protections against the data being publicly accessible, is troubling," Dan O'Sullivan wrote in a blog post on Upguard's website.

my bold.

and an estimated 62% of registered voters means it's more than just republican in there - gotta be democrats and independents too. one wonders what they wanted with info on them - try to convert? try to dissuade from voting? try to target for voter suppression laws?

As to that, I have no reason (yet) to doubt the simplest explanation; the more information they have, the easier they can target potential voters, making more effective use of their campaign money.

Of course they won't hesitate to use it for nefarious purposes too, if need be. But I'm sure the Dems use much of the - well, I guess they can use all of the data now.
