Do you have any books on Bigfoot? But not the Yeti. Those only live in cold climates like the Himalayas, you know.
I need books with pictures of nurses, people in wheelchairs and someone getting a shot.
I don't want any books on World War two. Got any history books on World War three?
I need a children's book written in Polish.
Are all of these movies for sale? (pointing at our regular collection to borrow, after getting a, no, those are for lending only) *pointing at the books* Well, are all of these for sale?
Machines are taking over the library! My parents worked HARD for their money. They didn't just lounge around all day and let the computers do the work for them!
Do you have any books for a first grader?
I need a picture book, that's also a non-fiction biography.
I need a book with 100 pages in it. I have to write a book report and the book has to have 100 pages. (obviously can't be arsed to read anything with MORE than 100 pages...) _________________ A person's character is their destiny. |

Some of those remind me of the kind of thing somebody might ask for as a prop in a play or something. Like the one in polish or the one with pictures of weird things.
*would -never- want to use a library book in a play* Plays tend to... break things. Especially with some of the not so great actors. |

Oh, we have them. "George Washington's Teeth" is one of the first that come to mind. It's a picture book, although wordy for a picture book. It's just so funny because these requests usually come from college students who are taking a children's literature class. You'd think that by college they'd at least know how to use the catalog, but no. _________________ A person's character is their destiny. |

Catalog? There's a catalog? Does that mean I can check out stuff without leaving the house? When's the holiday edition due out?
Wait, why do you have a catalog if none of the books or movies are for sale?
Kidding! Just kidding! And on a loosely related note, check out www.msdewey.com. _________________

There actually are things you can "check out" from home. http://www.mylibrary.us/
There are downloadable audio books that you can "check out" for a period of two weeks from home, for instance. You can also check out availability of titles and place holds from home. _________________ A person's character is their destiny. |

I had a lady on the phone today who just couldn't understand why I didn't know the intricacies of the US Army's benefits and pay and disbursments of such. She just wanted an answer and DID NOT want a phone number to call someone who should know. She avoided the phone number option for nearly 15 minutes on the phone.
TAKE THE NUMBER AND HANG UP THE PHONE, LADY. _________________ A person's character is their destiny. |

Here's a helpful hint, if you see "Shelving Cart" for the location of the book, check the shelf first anyway. That status is automatic and just means that the book has been checked in within the last 24 hours. _________________ A person's character is their destiny. |

What really matters in the above post is that you will pick up a virus when you download the "codec" required. Also... PISSING BABIES????? WTF. _________________ A person's character is their destiny. |
