I just found this out today, and it makes me a little sad. In a way, of course, he's been dead 30+ years; still, I find the world just a little paler, the colors a little less edgy, knowing that he's now gone entirely. A bit of old-fashioned Orange Sunshine would cheer me up, and he'd approve of that, but that's long gone, too... which is also a little sad....

For those who don't know who Syd Barrett was - and I realize most of you are far too young to recognize the name - about all that I can suggest is that you go find a copy of The Piper at the Gates of Dawn and listen to it. If you're fortunate, your parents - or maybe grandparents in some cases - may have one stashed away.
