"Another of the mysterious flesh-eating creatures is the "demon duck", thought to be the biggest bird found anywhere in the world.

It stood three metres high, had a giant beak and a body mass of 400kg."

That's so incredibly sexy! I need to find a good picture of its fossils or drawing of what a "demon duck" looked like and maybe I'll make a spiffy new avatar.

Poor Taylorbell.

But on topic, if someone can resurrect a killer kangaroo for me (I think it'd make an awesome pet*) I'd love him or her forever.

*By "pet" I meant "vehicle of revenge."

At the end of the Creosote era, two new classes arose to challenge the ruling reptiles - birds and mammals.
The success of the birds was due in large part to their development of the feather. As you may recall from chapter 2, Galileo demonstrated that a feather falls more slowly than a lead weight. Being covered with feathers thus gave the birds a definite advantage over the flying reptiles, which were covered with lead weights. (Pictured: Saber-toothed Duck)

Have you ever seen the scrotum on a prehistoric kangaroo? It's gigantic.

c'mon it's only slightly larger than the hairy balled wombat. Still freaking humungous though.
