Working with Two Pints tonight. She points out a kid drinking underage. I chuck him out. He goes but tries to act like the saddest man alive doing so. I see him later drinking outside the pub. I confront him, by name, tell him i know who he is and how old he is, and to fuck off. We close the pub a while later and Two Pints goes for a cigarette. He's outside with his mates. It dawns on him now how I know his name etc. So he calls out to Two Pints that she's a slut and he's going to 'smash her up'.

He doesn't realise I'm stood a yard behind her, out of sight. I step out and ask him to repeat what he said. He starts to walk away so I ask him again. Now he's the saddest man alive again so he walks toward me - maybe ten feet away - and tells me he's going to rape her. I start to walk toward him and his mates drag him back tell him to shut up. I tell him to fuck off again & they go.

Q. What to do next? Find him & beat the shit out of him? Get someone else to do it? Call the police? Find his parents & talk to them?

Q. Am i right to feel like a total pussy for not beating the shit out of a 17 y.o. who threatened to rape the girl I'm sleeping with?

Q. Am I actually having a heart attack 'cos i'm still shaking 2 hrs later?

It's not a real threat imo. But it doesn't matter. I can't think of any worse thing he could hve said.

The saddest man alive bit threw me off a bit from what I was expecting to feel. Why does Gary have this kind of pitying understanding in this kind of situation?

That aside, you did the right thing. Going after him is the expected thing, but it just serves to validate him. It was an angry, empty threat and he is a pathetic nothing for saying something like that. No need to turn it and him into something.
