I'm just curious if you, in any sort of technical sense, while hastily looking up the definition of a word you really should have already known – in order to point out meaningless errata that wouldn't be interesting or pertinent even were it correct (which it's not) – actually read the primary definition given in that link there.

I actually dislike it when idiots do that, which is why I called him on it. I didn't, in fact, rip into Yarko for a spelling or grammar error. I ripped into him for incorrectly ripping into donut3.5 else for making a lexical error.

So, yes, Yarko was wrong for categorically stating that heroin and heroine are not homonyms in a technical sense. I'm not sure what your lengthy argumentation is directed at, as I made no claims that any particular word is always pronounced like any other particular word. And no, "hear-oh-in" is not correct, any more than "nukular" for nuclear is. There's a pronunciation that sounds a bit like "hear-oh-in," but it's not common, in my experience. (Not that a secondary pronunciation in any way makes my original post incorrect.)

Thank you for your wishes of luck. If you are the best these forums have to offer, however, I definitely won't need it :P ... maybe a flame retardant suit ... or a retard retardant suit ... or a sense of proportion and humor ...
