| While my friend was busy haggling over the price of a sapphire pendant, a loose jewelry store attendant sat down next to me and said "You look bored, so I'm going to teach you a fuckload of things about diamonds." So it was to be: The Perfect Cut of a diamond is designed to reflect light out of the interior back into the eye of the viewer, maximizing the colored sparkle. It was invented by a mathematician named Tolkowsky who used numerical formulas to determine the ideal reflective structure of a diamond, long before cutting methods would allow it to be successfully accomplished. A trained eye knows the natural range of reflected colors generated by a true diamond, and -- given good light -- can actually detect cubic zirconium from afar simply by mentally categorizing the range of colors reflected out of a gem that they see. This is why it's more common to see faux diamonds in more concealing, less reflective cuts, such as a Princess. |

Political candidates will not sponsor events like coat and blanket drives for the homeless because they're worried that they will alienate the voters who may think that this encourages people to remain homeless.
In summary, I have learned that volunteering to coordinate community service events for this campaign will be frustrating. |

| Today I learned that sometimes, even if you don't like a person, they still deserve to be treated justly and your personal prejudice for them shouldn't weigh on your decisions. |

Getting liquored up, obviously. In my neck of the woods, it's nearly a damned sport. _________________ bi-chromaticism is the extraordinary belief that there exists only two options
