Did you see Religulous? It was awesome, in a sad, this-won't-help-anything kind of way.

I'm a psych major... one of my focuses is behavioral neuroscience. So, yeah, I just knew that... but only because it's my chosen field. |

Yeah, but I read his comments about medicine too.
Seriously. He is a germ-theory denier.
I mean, even if there weren't other things he was crazy on that right there would really put him firmly in the crazy-camp. _________________

| Huh... I hadn't read about that before. I was never a big enough fan to research him... that's too bad. Just goes to show that rationality is not an all or nothing concept... too bad. |

A while back, some of our Swedes questioned the labeling of Swedish news anchors as cronkiters.

I stopped watching Penn & Teller's Bullshit after about a season because they were prone to using bullshit over rationality and facts-based debunking.
So yeah, about the only decent show for uncovering things with anything resembling scientific vigor anymore is Mythbusters, and I suspect even they fudge the experiments quite a bit. _________________

| Mythbusters needs to hire an engineer to screen their ideas. A fair number of the myths they test can be debunked with basic thermodynamics or dynamics. Also they're experimental design is crappy. But then, it's not really a fact-based show. |

Im pretty sure they go in knowing a few of them are gonna fail. Theres been several I knew would fail just because proving that it worked would pretty much be teaching us how to build bombs. _________________ I have a face, with a mustache.

I'm pretty sure they are aware that several myths they debunk are impossible. It's just so much fun to try them out. _________________

Yeah, that's kind of the point: if myths were debunked easily with pen and paper then where's the primetime TV in that? _________________
