I've never seen a dudebro with a cool knot, so I'm going to doubt that.

Tying something like this takes more effort than donning a poorly-made fedora.

Hmm. I have my doubts as well. I'm going to have to start paying attention to knot styles, now, aren't I?

Cool Draco costume though, for sure. Makes me want a Hogwarts uniform (Though I'd probably just go generic Ravenclaw/whatever suited my mood that day.)

dudebro?

Also, yeah the eldritch knot is like the epitome of "Trying too hard to be unique, yet classy."

Usually by people who say things like "my good sir..." "m'lady" and other such awesomeness.

I like fancy hats, I like ties, I like vests and well fitting jackets. I don't want them all to be warning signs.

I guess I've never met someone sporting a fancy tie knot, though.

*sigh*

Most of the people I've seen wearing ties specifically as a fashion statement either go with a standard knot or a velcro bow tie. I've never bothered to learn other knots because most of them seem like trying too hard, but that might just be the two or three people I know who actually make FB posts about their ties.

yeah, i have never once in my life attended a function at which a plain old half windsor knot was insufficiently fancy or whatever. so even if i did learn to do origami with my tie, i would probably just forget how from lack of use.

In high school I owned more ties than all my guy friends combined. Wore 'em to concerts and stuff. I never did the fancy knots because they ended up comically short on me.

I guess I don't have much reason to wear 'em anymore now... and if I need to dress up, I usually just wear an actual dress.

I hate having stuff around my neck, usually have taken it off by the time we get to whatever event someone insisted I needed it for

I didn't used to like ties, but then I had to wear one at work for a couple of years and now I don't really care one way or the other. They're pretty inconvenient, though. If you get warm they make you warmer (I'm more likely to be hot than cold), if you bend over you have to keep an eye on it, and if you take it off then you just have another thing to keep track of.

Also, ninjas can use them to kill you.

Several of my coworkers call me the quad ninja because I'm apparently soft spoken enough that I appear and disappear without anyone noticing.

Very Happy

You know. Just sayin'.

Remind me not to wear a tie if I ever visit you.

I used to get that all the time when I lived in residence! E.g. I'd walk into someone's room during a conversation, and not wanting to be rude, wouldn't say anything, so anyone not facing the door wouldn't notice I'd entered. Startled a few people that way, unintentionally, until I learned a quick "'sup" was fine as a non-interrupt.

this is quite impressive but i'm guessing in real life this is mitigated by the fact that the ends of the tie are like just below the picture frame.
