So my wife's really getting into anime and has just declared Chobits her new favorite, but I think it's because she just watched the boxed set the other night ( I fell asleep). Anywho she wants more shojo (chicky flicky stuff) though she likes all anime, any suggestions? I've already seen most of what I'm listing

No probs. And good on ya for having Ranma 1/2, I first saw that while on exchange in Germany a few years ago, dubbed in German, and I still enjoyed it. Good stuff.

If she likes chobits ... hmmm, anything else by clamp should be alright. Maria-sama ga Miteru is pretty good shoujo. Hmm, what else ... ohhhh Honey and Clover, you'll enjoy that.

Oh, and watch Kino no Tabi because it is that damn awesome.

Hmm, one last thing, you can try the anidb, or animeplanet. Animeplanet has a recommendations database so it should be more useful to you.

Have you seen Samurai Jack?

Ghost in the Shell is good, as is Samurai Champloo.

Tenchi has several series that I can't recall but they're cute.

Check into the Hack.-- series also.

His and Her Circumstances, Marmalade Boy, Hana Yori Dango, Saikano, Kodocha, Fushigi Yuugi, Rayearth, Love Hina, Honey and Clover, Suzuka, Paradise Kiss...hrmm that should keep you busy for awhile. Don't forget to watch Tokyo Godfathers, it's a Christmas requirement...and you are also required to get Densha Otoko the live action. You will NOT be disappointed.

The Series, as long as it sticks to the story arcs, is awesome! The US releases included a bit too much filler material (fluff), though...

The movies are also good. They have a much darker tone, though.

If she likes Chobit, she'll probably like Steel Angel Kurumi. Same kinda Blade Runner "Can artificial humans love" kinda twist.

Personally, I enjoyed Onegai Teacher and Onegai Twins (as well as Girls Bravo) - even though they're mainly eye candy for the guys, the Japanime writers just can't help leavening their fun with a serious twist or two to the storyline. You just have to have the patience to get past the adolescent humor.

I also highly recommend Irresponsible Captain Tylor. Oh, and if by "Miyazaki (everything availble in the US)" you mean the Disney versions, drop the $40 for the Studio Ghibli archive set (that's how much I paid for mine on eBay). Its subtitles are more than adequate (if you're watching dubbed, chances are you're missing inflection and meaning that were in the original tracks - even if you have to read the subtitles to catch the words, the emotion comes through), and its pretty much everything. Don't forget The Cat Returns, which isn't Miyazaki but is from Studio Ghibli.

Hellsing, Escaflowne, and Samurai Champloo are all sure winners. I'd make sure you throw them on your list, as I recommend them highly. You have Cowboy Bebop listed... have you seen the movie? If not, it's worth picking up.

Also, don't bother with Outlaw Star. The ending was forced, and it had some of the worst character development I've ever seen.
