Finished Mobile Suit Gundam (0079). Honestly... I think it's my favorite of the Gundam anime series so far (manga gets more complicated). I will say, watching it dubbed, it was really weird to have Inuyasha whining during a lot of the scenes.

On to Zeta Gundam! And boy, are the Titans ever DICKS. I mean good lord, what a bunch of inexcusable dicks - probably worse than A-Laws, because at least they had some personnel with redeeming qualities. Strangely enough I've liked Kamile right from the beginning, because I remember what it was like to be an angry teenager doing stupid, violent things, and the hindsight involved in not being like that anymore is drawing me into his character progression.

I've watched enough of these now (and looked ahead on enough others), that it's really starting to seem like every Gundam series goes, "okay, we're going to sit down and make a realistic robot show. keep it grounded, everyone." And then they hit a point 75% of the way through the show and go, "you know what? IT'S FUCKING MAGIC! MAGIC EVERYWHERE! WHY? BECAUSE IT'S FUCKING MAGIC." It's a disconcerting and jarring trend, is what I'm saying. Even the silly ones like G Gundam start out with some internal logic before ditching everything and blowing up the rails.

EDIT: Also it's really weird that AnimeChannel on Youtube has all of Zeta Gundam up and freely available except episode eleven. I scanned through and checked-49 of 50 episodes are available. Episode 11? "Not available in your country." It's just weird, is what I'm saying, and I can't imagine why they'd block it. MSG 0079 has a bathing scene involving Frau Bow and the annoying kids which has nudity shown for all participants, and they didn't block that episode. Can't imagine what's worse (it's certainly not human-on-human violence, given the last couple episodes of MSG).

I love the animated series Titans! They're perfectly nice people--sometimes Beast Boy can be a bit immature, but Starfire is such a nice oh wait different Titans never mind. Smile

episode 11 of Zeta has literally nothing that would get the censors up in arms, so i'm not sure why they'd block it

I'm amused at how much Grey Delisle sounds like Tara Strong. Also, I found this the other day:

NEW ANIME SEASON:

On a related note, first episode of new Gintama, err Kintama, was hilarious.

BTOOOOM! seems like it could be something, but I'm not too sure yet.

If anyone wants to see them on crunchyroll, i got guest passes, message me here.

Also for Chast, did I tell you about Nyarko-san: Another Crawling Chaos? I think you might want to check this one out. It kinda a harem, but the lead male keeps telling himself "NO, your not girls may age, your incarnations of elder, gods". It's funny and dark and as twisted as you'd expect a comedic version of Lovecraft's world to be. The mythos fan boy in me gets giddy over the slew of references. I f you like, know that a new season is in the works.

Also, on a classic note, Welcome to the NHK. Everybody should watch/read it.

watched it, read it, loved it, wrote a 500-page-long fanfic about it which I then rebranded and sold the publishing rights to a hobo in exchange for his soul

I'm getting pretty curious as to what they're going to do with SAO now.
Maybe I should just watch it, eh?

BTOOOM! is pretty bad-ass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDtW4D7uLTI

I will be all over this game when/if they come out with it. Basically it's an FPS, but all your weapons are bombs.

Lots of darker stuff this time around, including K, Psycho Pass, Blast of Tempest, and Shin Sekai Yori (From the New World).

Also My Little Monster (aka Tonari no Kaibutsukun) is super funny. Also Gintama is back as well as Medaka Box (yay Kumagawa is gonna arrive soon)

Also, fuck yeah to more Sword Art.

All of you, go watch everything I've listed.

In interviews with Spanish anime sites Deculture.es and koi-nya.net at Granada's Ficzone, anime director Shinichiro Watanabe revealed that he's attached to plans for two upcoming anime series from Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door's BONES and Kids on the Slope's MAPPA.

The former, slated for 2013, is described as a space travel comedy, while the latter 2014 project will have a more serious tone.

FUCK YEAH!

Just finished reading Hellsing, pretty good read and now I'm trying to hunt around for the anime with English dubs or subs.

Long time ago I read One Piece up until like the 250th chapter or so, then just gave up. I spent a fortune on all those volumes x_x

Well go here: http://www.onepieceofficial.com/videos.aspx
They have halfway into the next arc dubbed, and up to current subbed. The anime and manga follow close enough that you can switch from one to the other in the story. Simulcast is every Saturday at 10:00 pm EST.

My theory is Vivi IS the Pluton. Why?

Power watch the 300 or so episode's you're behind and you'll know why. It's not spoiler since it's theory. I like the costume redesigns after the time skip. Also you haven't seen Frankie or Brook yet, plus there's the Enies Lobby, Impel Down, and war of the greatest arc. Right about now is the conclusion of the Merfolk Island arc.

So this season: holy fuckin shitballs OMG.

Sword art is sword art, but BTOOOM! Damn I wanna play the game (the video game, not the island death match)

But the other four I've mentioned, K, Psycho Pass, Blast of Tempest, and Shin Sekai Yori (From the New World), damn.

Blast of Tempest is probably the weakest, but it's still pretty good, we'll see how it goes. It may be great, or just generic.

K is kind of schizophrenic right now, but I think it's slowly building to epic levels. Or it may horribly bomb, we'll see.

Shin Sekai Yori (From the New World) is by far the darkest thing this season that I'm watching. Psychic kids, dystopian future, degenerate mutant peoples, fuck damn this story has really got it's hooks into me. Also, the "libraries" are quite an interesting concept.

Psycho Pass is by far the most rock solid. It's a "big brother is watching you" taken to ridiculous extremes, but it's doing well with fleshing out the characters. Episode four and I think we've finally met the big bad and the dragon.

Also Magi. Watch it.

I liked the first couple episodes of K. Dunno about the most recent few.

I think I would have been just as happy with SAO if it had ended after the first arc, not that the new arc is bad or anything. I probably would have ended up reading the books if they'd stopped animating it.

Magi is approximately what I expected it to be after I knew what it was all about. Decent enough.

not watching any of the others, so I can't comment on them
