Not to be rude, but there's a thread for this kind of thing. _________________ Scire aliquid laus est, pudor est non discere velle

Pain killing drugs and a heating pad.
If you don't have a heating pad put some long grain rice in a sock. Knot it. Put another sock over that. Heat that in a microwave for three minutes and place it on the base of the neck.
Okay?
Thread over. |

First of all, WebMD can be the most useless piece of shit on the internet. There are many, many times when I was unable to find any helpful information for whatever ailment I was plagued with.
Second of all, Dusty isn't just bitching, as would be appropriate for the Horrors thread. He's looking for advice.
Lastly, I hope you three soon have some really uncomfortable situation in which you need help, but everybody acts like a total dick to you. Karma's a bitch. _________________ fight |

Sorry I came off as a callus bitch... wait I am a callus bitch. He used to post useless crap on the other forum all the time. Plus asking for advice to neck related problems from people on the internet could potentially be much worse for you than seeking out a professional. Not saying advice here is from a quack and is going to kill you, just that you really don't know what you are getting in terms of medical advice. _________________ Anything new and exciting? |

Well, it's true that there are likely no doctors on this forum. But home remedies from friends can be helpful... And if Dusty hasn't the common sense to know that something like "take 12 Tylenols" is a bad idea, then let Darwinism run its course.
Anyway...

I'm not a doctor. I'm a veterinary technician and an animal science major. Which basically means that I know systems physiology and shit.
But yeah... You might have slept on it funny, or pulled something... But there's a chance it could be something more, so if it doesn't feel better after tonight's sleep, I'd consider going to a doctor.
For now, I'd second the whole heating pad thing, and also some of that minty muscle rub. I'm not really one for pills, but it might help to pop a couple acetaminophins, if you're into that.
Just keep in mind that sometimes these little aches and pains can be indicative of something out-of-sorts in your body. So many health problems people have could have been avoided in earlier stages if they hadn't just shrugged 'em off. _________________ fight |

while I suppose that could be interpreted as soliciting advice (mind you, it looks more like complaining to me). If he had maybe put some background into how he hurt himself or where he hurts, then this wouldn't have been an issue.

If that is acting "like a total dick" to you, then I fear you may be a tad bit sensitive. I was trying to politely point out that there exists on this very board a thread perfectly suitable for his original post. What's more, I'm certain that that particular thread is filled with posts from people who would be more than happy to offer advice should he ask for it. _________________ Scire aliquid laus est, pudor est non discere velle

By "you three" did you mean me too?
I gave him my mothers be all and end all advice for neck pain.
By "thread over" I was saying that that should be the end of his neck pain. I wasn't being a dick
Also if the heat pad and drugs don't work after a day and a hot shower, then yes go to the clinic.

Becoming a vetrinarian is alot tougher than medical school, no joke. So don't sell yourself short. Congradulations, that's a very fine profession. |

Starting threads is dangerous bussiness in this forum.
Guys like us best just leave it to the trained professionals. |

Wishing harm on others, even if you think they deserve it, really looks good for your karma too. _________________ Anything new and exciting? |
