Wouldn't this come awfully close to assigning the kind of "Alumni status" people want to be rid of by ditching post counts?
Besides, say someone stole Sam's nick. Sam would just maintain his current rep under a new nick while the thief would look like a complete fuckwit.

I was hoping rm had registered his. I assumed digi had grabbed his. Sab, I don't know. Someone could have taken his just to keep it from him.
I know I already registered my main alts, you know, just in case.
