Just a side note on polygamy, it is not only not a sin in the bible, many righteous men in the bible had several wives. Really, especially in the old testament, marriage with multiple partners is completely accepted.

while polygamy was common practice back then, genesis does say "for this reason a man wll leave his father and mother and be united with his wife and the two shall become one flesh." Just becuase somthing happened a bunch doesn't mean it was what god had in mind for people. And in the new testament, church elders and deacons (at least) were supposed to only have one wife.

however, the point you used is not valid. David also had a man killed so he could marry the guy's wife and yet he was called a man after god's own heart. God loves people despite thier shortcomings, you can't take people's actions and justify then just because they were deemed righteous on the whole.

They are the same, if god isn't at the center, you aren't worshipping him as you should. Christianity is called the narrow path for a reason.

The concept in question is not "worshipping as one should." It is a specific kind of that called idolatry. You are trying to expand the word so far it becomes meaningless.

Maybe that was a bad phrasing. But you have to see, from where I read scriptures, especially new testament, if you break one law, you are guilty of the whole body of laws (nearly direct quote, just dont remember the reference). If you do not have god as the center in your life, you are not worshipping him, you are worshipping something else.

ok, I have to admit that was funny. But seriously. Once you experience what god has to offer, there is no longer any doubt about scripture.

So, God guided the hands of all those anonymous scribes who changed the Bible to meet their current cultures moral whims?

Ascension of Mary, anyone?

Then why is sin such a problem, if he loves people even when you do it?
