No, that makes perfect sense. He doesn't want to mess up page counts in PHP forum by deleting a member and then having the pages go all screwy.

Yes, that's right - if you remove the first post in a thread, you can make it go all funny, and also, people won't know what started it all. It's easiest just to change the content. However, as I run a PHPBB board myself, I know that it's wonderfully easy to do if you can only be bothered to get involved in the first place.
