How do you guys/gals feel about the immigration here in America?

What is your take on what should be done?

My beliefs on this are very liberal, I think we should just let them in and give them all green cards/work visas. Let them work, and pay taxes. Better then them just coming over anyway and having the law turn a blind side to them, while we (the citizens) pick up their tab (IE Healthcare, paying for their children to go to school here, etc...).

No, jesus, no. We don't need any immigration reform. If we go down that road, then we'll have to mow our own goddamned lawn.

Admittedly, I don't have enough information to back up any possible solution, but o well.

If we choose to deport illegal immigrants (impossible to do), we would need to expend a large amount of resources to do so, and even more resources to ensure that the illegal immigrants stay out of the US. Logistically, I'm not sure if the latter can be done without major improvements in various areas. Then there's the whole impact that the illegal immigrants' departure may have on various industries as far as labor and possible rising costs associated with their departure.

If we go the route that you suggested, giving them green cards and having them work etc, that sounds peachy keen. Having them compete legally for our jobs rather than being undercut would be a nice alternative than being given the pink slip to an illegal immigrant for a drastically lower wage. It may increase the quality in the workforce as well since this may induce people to increase their human capital to secure their job.

The above was hastily put together based on a more economic sense which begs the question: how are we going to benefit with either plan? We're going to spend X amount of resources to take care of anything we need, so where's the benefit that will happen?

However, being that this is not a black-and-white issue, there will be several other 'solutions' that may be mix and matched or be completely different.

The people immigrate because their own countries aren't any good. Until those countries are "fixed", we will have an immigration problem. I don't really know if there is a good remedy but I know that kicking them all out isn't the answer.
