Sadly, the security on my house is nearly nil.
Simple in the door knob twist locks and that's it. But I've emailed my landlord (since I can't call him) and told him I'd like some better locks asap.
I know it's unlikely they'd come back... but they did see my computer, and my dvd player and such. They could come back. _________________ A person's character is their destiny. |

I'm so sorry, Fris. I can't imagine how frightening that must be. Thank god everyone's alright, though.
We'll see what we can do about the dvds, but the necklace really sucks. They won't ever appreciate the real value of something like that. =/ _________________ Live to laugh. |

bummer about the locks. we have the same kind in my current place, but there are also pretty solid deadbolts. our work schedules are such that our place is unattended for only like 4-6 hours a day at the most. that's plenty of time to get robbed, but at least it's not unattended ALL day.
on a side note, they have THESE at most Wal-Marts for $10, and they work pretty well. it's not super high-tech or anything, but at least it's something, ya know? our previous landlady bought a set for each of the apartments in the place we were renting after our car got broken into.
anything to get back a bit of piece of mind is worth a few bucks, i think. _________________ On Twitter

they didn't take episode 1 because I only have that one on vhs. They didn't take any vhs.
But I will try and get better locks asap, and I know my sister gave me a little magnetic sticky alarm set, but I can't find it.
Also, oh jeeeeeezus. I just went out in the garage to make sure the back door was shut and it wasn't and I saw a flicker of movement in the garage and I about leapt out of my skin but it was only a cat interested in my garbage. *pant tremble* _________________ A person's character is their destiny. |

Indeed. Got your voicemail, as I have Vonage and have the option to listen to my voicemail through email.
Also, didn't mean to sound snippy at you, hp. I'm just frustrated with the thief/thieves. _________________ A person's character is their destiny. |

Kristi, I'm so sorry. This is just terrible. I'm sitting here now looking up at my own dvd collection all set up nicely on top of my closet. I wish I could just walk over to your house now and we could watch a dvd together and eat some popcorn. But mostly, I wish these terrible things would stop happening to you. _________________ Eureka00: "Reminding you of your addictions" since 1982.
